• Recently images of clashes in Athens may have frightened you and casts doubt on an upcoming trip to Greece. This country suffers a severe economic and social crisis from 2008, as everyone knows it.

In this difficult context, Santorini and the Cyclades in general are used as privileged destinations. Because their only source of income is tourism, everyone there to redouble their efforts to welcome and make unforgettable moments for travelers.

Thus, Santorini was elected in first place in the top ten islands to visit in the Travel + Leisure magazine (400,000 copies in the United States) in 2011: http://www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2011/islands

The village of Oia where is located or Aethrio is itself ranked 16th best European destinations, in the travelers? Trip Advisor selections  2011: http://www.tripadvisor.com/TravelersChoice-Destinations-cTop25-g4

Recent events are concentrated in Athens or some major cities of the continent.

There have never been any violent demonstrations or major problems in our island, well away from all this. Travelling to Santorini is only 45 minutes by flight from Athens airport which is 40km away from the city center, also spared from the recent violence.

Charter or low-cost flights from all European countries arrive directly at our international airport.
There is almost never a strike in Santorini, which enjoyed record attendance last year, in contrast to other destinations within the country.

So feel free and enjoy this context to come and admire Santorini, a unique myth in the world!
