We are just home from spending 2 weeks at Aethrio and loved every minute of it.
It is in an excellent location as others have said as it is only a minute walk from the bus stop and easy to find. It is so relaxing and quiet there that you would forget that the main village is only a few seconds walk away.
The breakfast every morning is a perfect start to the day with choices of different fresh breads, pastries, types of egg, cereals and juice, coffee and teas.
We stayed in a 2 person studio Rm 10 which was perfectly suited to our needs. I loved the huge shower :-)
The pool was lovely and there were always enough sunbeds for everyone. A few days we were the only people at the pool so it was very relaxing and felt like it was our own private pool!
The layout and landscaping is beautiful and there's a very homey feel about the place.
Oia itself is incredible. Every corner you turn has another breathtaking view which you would never get fed up of looking at.
The staff are great, very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
We would recommend Aethrio to anyone and plan on booking in again for next summer as soon as flights are available!!

We have just returned home to the San Francisco area after leaving your lovely place, we spent some time in Naplio, Olympia, Korinthos and Athens. Your place was the loviliest experience, from your lovely pool area and our room (and bed), to breakfast to your helpfulness and availability at the front desk all the time, to our own personal patio kitten which I still miss (we named her "Rainy", since it rained a bit on us). We will miss the Aethrio the most. Thank you so much for making our stay on Santorini so memorable!

Amazing experience!

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful! Staff was extremely courteous and friendly. We had a hard time finding the hotel and the owner met us where we were and walked us all the way to the hotel. Plus, it offers breathtaking views of both sides of the island. Hotel is extremely well maintained, and breakfast super yummy! This hotel is the perfect complement to your stay in Santorini...

Lovely hotel with great service, breakfast, sunset terrace and pool. We loved the location-Oia is very pretty and peaceful and seemed a lot less congested than Fira. There were doors from the breakfast room leading right into the town center which I thought was cool. I loved the style of the hotel-being what I thought was more traditional Greek island housing with the white walls and roofs and terracotta pots. The rooms were pretty basic and the bed a bit hard but we encountered hard beds in all 3 hotels we stayed in while in Greece. We had a little kitchenette with a stove, sink and mini fridge which we used to stock some beer, wine and water. The bus stop was close by and taxis were about 25 euros to the airport / ferry port. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aethrio.

Our stay in Aethrio was super relaxing and had everything we could have asked for and more. The room we received was HUGE, full of character and had a proper bathroom with a proper shower! I am not sure what the other people have been complaining about but this place was a real find. Despite 35+ degree heat, the high ceilings in our room helped keep the room cool and fresh, so didn't have to run the AC the entire time. We were also lucky enough to get our own roof top balcony to take in the sunset, without having to fight the crowds (complete with 4 cushioned wooden sun loungers!) The staff were friendly and unobtrusive and the pool was simply stunning. All together it was our favourite place to stay over the two weeks we spent hoping around the islands yet cost us significantly less than some of the other lemons we ran into.

We stayed here and loved it. I was worried based on some of the other reviews but I am happy we chose the Aethrio.

Rooms were big, clean and nicely decorated in the simple Greek traditional style.
Bathrooms were clean and simple - the shower is a typical Greek shower but everthing works well. Plenty of towels, shampoo and a hairdryer are provided.

Breakfast was very good and the food was plentiful (and we traveled with a 12 year old eating machine of a boy). Coffee, tea, juice, yogurt, cereal, granola, fruit,breads/ rolls , hardbolled eggs, cold cut meats and cheeses everyday, We even had homemade spanikopitas one morning. Food never ran out even when we went down to breakfast at 10 of 10!!

Pool was clean, refreshing - chairs and umbrellas and loungers w/ cushions aroundthe pool. Pool towels are also provided. The plants all arounfthe outside of the hotel were beautiful and so well tended. we had family staying at other more expensive hotels with pools but the wanted to always come to swim and hangout at our place!!

The hotel is close to everything and still very private. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone.

I chose this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews. So many hotels in Santorini got scathing reviews, that I was a little put off, until I found that everyone had good things to say about Aethrio. AND it was affordable.

I loved the hotel. If you're looking for something hanging off the side of the cliff, with a pool perched precariously over the ocean, this isn't the place. But it's only a 1 minute walk from all that! And that view can be seen from the roof deck. Plus, it's very easy to get to from where the cab will drop you off. Just a few meters walk, that's easily doable. The cliff hotels require ascending and descending a lot of steps, and navigation of the throngs of tourists. And it's hot. And windy. Believe me, I saw many frustrated and sweaty people trying to roll their luggage on cobblestones, and trying to get their luggage up and down those steps,
Forget all that. Stay at the Aethrio!!!

Much to my surprise I got an entire suite.(Suite #7). Admittedly, I did pay for an upgraded room, but I wasn't expecting all that square footage. The suite had cool marble floors, and simple design. There was a marble bathroom, a mini fridge, and a giant private terrace, with a view of the sea.

The pool was glorious!!!! Have a look at my photos. I was in heaven. I usually avoid the sun, but I couldn't resist this pool!

The staff were great. Breakfast was included. And there was a library of books in English, Greek, German, and French. So don't worry if you forget reading material.

I plan to stay here again. Many more times.
