Santorini is a place of fantastic excursion by boat to the volcano and the three small volcanic Island : Nea Kameni, Palia Kameni and Thirassia.
In Santorini you should also visit the archaeological and historical sites : Akrotiri, the ancient ruins of the City of Thira and the relics of the ancient cemetery in Phinikia. You can admire a lot of historical churches, monasteries and Venetian castles.

Hotel Aethrio is located in Oia (Ia), one of the most famous place in Cycladic islands. Walking along the Caldera is unforgettable, and the sunset there is considered one of the most extraordinary experience in the world.
And not to be forgotten is the famous wine of SANTORINI. Wine also has a long tradition on SANTORINI. ? Vinsanto ? , a sweet wine used for mass by the Russian church, has long been an important source of revenue due to its world-wide export.
Today, mainly dry, unmistakable white wine is produced on SANTORINI from vines cultivated in volcanic soil. Due to the wind the vines are kept short and cut into the form of a nest. This is done so that during dry times the humidity in the night air can be collected when it condenses. In this fashion an interesting, intelligent white wine is made, a wine which does not betray its volcanic origins and sunny character.

For those participants having extra time, there is a regular ferry boat service to Santorini from Piraeus offering a relaxing, pleasant journey.
